I've made my feelings about Bernie Sanders for years. I sincerely believe him to the be left's version of Trump. A selfish old man who, to some, possesses a charisma that hides his true intentions. The only real difference between the two is that Trump's base loves what makes him horrible and Sanders' base chooses to ignore it. All that being said, I have some pretty straight forward questions for those supporters. Being that I rarely receive responses, I'll call them rhetorical.
1. Did anyone in their right mind really envision a situation in America where a self-declared Socialist (if you know anything about Socialism, you'd know he's not at all a Socialist) would be President of the United States?
2. If you hated Trump for his "vote for me now, I'll explain what I'll do later" campaign, how could you possibly embrace Bernie Sanders for all of his lofty goals, without ever, not a single time, explaining how he planned to structure, pay, or implement them?
3. Does "free" really mean what you think it means? Remember, all gifts come at a sacrifice.
4. If you liked Bernie, why did you rebuke the younger, more intelligent, more well-spoken, more prepared, and more vivacious Elizabeth Warren (whose ideas, Bernie based most of his platform on)?
5. Do you honestly believe, knowing what you know about the South, Midwest, and the Bible Belt, that Sanders stood a chance in swing states against Donald Trump?
6. Does his history of missed Senate votes not bother you? If one can't commit on a lower level, how is one expected to commit on a higher level?
7. Do you know about how rich he's become from campaigning? Do you know about his wife's "finances?"
8. Honestly, if you know anything about politics, even a smidge, explain to me how he was more qualified than Hillary Clinton and is more qualified than Joe Biden?
9. If you understand the National Debt and how the US deficit works, do you understand what universal healthcare would have done to each? Just think of it this way: For what it would have cost over the course of a decade, we could have given every single person living right now in the US $130K. If that doesn't stun you, think of it this way. We could have given every person in the entire world $500 a year every year for a decade. And if this still isn't clicking, just think of this. The cost of a single year, one year, of universal US health care, could end world hunger for 50-100 years.
10. To date, not a single person has given me a logical explanation as to why he's a valid, not even good, but valid candidate. Can you?
