2015 NFL Draft Predictions

It's been complicated over the last few years with all the trades, so I'm basing this on whether or not people stay pretty close to where they were supposed to pick. It's just too difficult to predict when a team will move up 2 slots to take someone nobody wanted anyway.

  1. Tampa Bay - Jameis Winston, QB, FSU - I think he's going to be a bust, but he has the athletic ability to be a starter. Immaturity in the NFL isn't going to fly in the age of social media.
  2. Tennessee Titans - Marcus Mariota, QB, Oregon - I think Tennessee will make the choice and then listen to offers. If there is a trade it will be a three team deal or to Cleveland for #1's.
  3. Jacksonville Jaguars - Amari Cooper, WR, Alabama - Not giving Bortles a big time target is going to kill his development. They need a pass rusher, but he's too good to pass up.
  4. Oakland Raiders - Leonard Williams, DT, USC - Rated the #1 player in the draft by almost everyone. Raiders have to pick him. If Jacksonville takes him, Raiders will snatch Cooper.
  5. Washington - Dante Fowler, DE/OLB, Florida - I will be shocked if Washington doesn't trade down and don't be surprised if it's to SF or Houston.
  6. New York Jets - Kevin White, WR, WVU - Cue the boo birds. This is an awful pic, because the Jets can pick one of five de/olb who can start right now.
  7. Chicago Bears - Andrus Peat, OT, Stanford - Might be a reach, but with their two WRs gone, they go for solid protection for Cutler.
  8. Atlanta Falcons - Arik Armstead, DE/DT, Oregon - Some have this guy going much later, but I think he might be the best DE in the draft and could move inside in Fox 3-4 system.
  9. New York Giants - Brandon Sherff, OT/G, Iowa - Typical NYG lineman. There are rumors the Giants like one player immensely and will trade down if they don't get him, but I think it's him.
  10. St. Louis Rams - Cameron Erving, OL, FSU - There are better players and the Rams would love to take a WR, but this guy can play all five OL positions. Too valuable with their holes.
  11. Minnesota Vikings - DeVante Parker, WR, Louisville - I can't name anyone on this offense other than a guy who didn't play most of last year. If he plays, Parker is a great pick. If not???
  12. Cleveland Browns - DJ Humphries, OT/G, Florida - Most people have him going later, maybe even with Cleveland's second 1st rounder, but they snatch up protection for ???
  13. New Orleans Saints - Trae Waynes, CB, Michigan St. - A true need pick. Saints could try and trade down to pick a CB later, but Waynes is the best in the class.
  14. Miami Dolphins - Nelson Agholor, WR, USC - Everyone in the world just dropped dead...well everyone in Miami. Gurley is slotted by everyone here. Miami always does this.
  15. San Francisco - Vic Beasley, DE/OLB, Clemson - I've seen mocks with him taken third and others with him in the 2nd round. Pass rushers are all over the place.
  16. Houston Texans - Todd Gurley, RB, Georgia - I think Houston is one of those teams quietly ready to offer the world for Mariota. If they don't, they get a stud, who will be a starter.
  17. San Diego Chargers - Erick Flowers, OT, Miami - Trade rumors are swirling, but they are all created by ESPN. SD keeps Rivers and protects him.
  18. Kansas City Chiefs - Kevin Johnson, CB, Wake Forest - For a team that isn't that bad, the Chiefs sure do need to fix a lot. KJ, will step in nicely, but wow, does he have a tough job.
  19. Cleveland Browns - Danny Shelton, DT, Northwestern - Cleveland was terrible against the run last year and this guy fills huge holes. Cleveland needs to draft smart.
  20. Philadelphia Eagles - Landon Collins, S, Alabama - OK, this is a reach as most have him going in the last 2-3 picks, but this guy reminds me of Laron Landry before he went insane.
  21. Cincinnati Bengals - Bud Dupree, DE/OLB, Kentucky - Some have this guy as a top 5 pick, some have him mid 2nd round all because he goes to a basketball school.
  22. Pittsburgh Steelers - Bryon Jones, CB, UConn - As always, the Steelers get a guy who on paper should have gone about ten picks sooner. Gregory is the sexy pick, this is the smart one.
  23. Detroit Lions - Melvin Gordon, RB, Wisconsin - Will split time in backfield and add some offense to an already potent one. Probably a bad pick here, but good player.
  24. Arizona Cardinals - Marcus Peters, CB, Washington - Best available player who fills a need. Two names with off the field problems are the reason for this pick.
  25. Carolina Panthers - Dorial Green Beckham, WR, Oklahoma - Top ten talent, I'm actually questioning him still being here. If so, Carolina is more than happy to take him.
  26. Baltimore Ravens - Shane Ray, DE/OLB, Missouri - Off the field issues are a norm for Ravens players, so why not take a chance on this guy? Bust written all over him.
  27. Dallas Cowboys - Jordan Phillips, NT, Oklahoma - Mid 2nd round prospect taken early by Boys who avoid going with WR, CB or RB here.
  28. Denver Broncos - Eric Kendricks, ILB, UCLA - Malcolm Brown is the sexy pick, but Kendricks is more of a need. Of course, I want Brown.
  29. Indianapolis Colts - Eric Rowe, CB/S, Utah - Colts are probably going to be in the Super Bowl this year and really just need 2nd stringers, so this is a solid pick.
  30. Green Bay Packers - Bernardick McKinney, LB, Miss St. - Absolutely nobody has him going first round, but this guy is a beast. Perfect player for GB.
  31. New Orleans Saints - Philip Dorsett, WR, Miami - Brees needs a new toy and Miami's WR is perfect in this offense. Devin Smith could also be a choice.
  32. New England Patriots - Devin Smith, WR, Ohio St. - This won't be the pick, because coach will probably trade for the rights to Jerry Rice somehow, but they need another WR or CB.

White Privilege

This was a post I wrote on Facebook after surprisingly not seeing any moaning about the Documentary by Jose Antonio Vargas, titled White People Dayyum! I just scrolled my timeline and not a single white person got their feelings hurt by White People. I unfortunately haven't seen it, but the number of fake accounts that popped up on twitter, tells me it was a damn good show. Here's the thing. If someone of color aka non-white says "White Privilege," are you offended? If you said yes, then you are exhibiting white privilege. It has nothing to do with how hard you work or study, how you stayed out of trouble, because here's the thing, that is entirely the point. Somewhere out there, there are 100 Black, Spanish, Native American, Arab, Asian, who worked and studied as hard as you and never got in trouble, but they don't have what you "earned" or achieved. Stop looking at the one person you know who isn't white that achieved as your benchmark. Loo

11 Rules of Life - Bill Gates?

I read this on Facebook this morning.  A friend had posted it and said that every child should have to receive this. I of course read it and started to think.  I immediately wondered who really wrote this, as I rarely see things like this attributed to the proper person.  I immediately found it was written by Conservative Charles J. Sykes when he wrote a book about how America is dumbing down our youth.  I read it twice and started to wonder how true it was.  Below is a link to the actual picture I saw. So let's look at each of the rules and analyze them. Rule 1: Life is not fair — get used to it! - Life is not fair in that we are not all afforded the same opportunities based on race, creed, color, socio-economic background, but in general, those who are afforded the same opportunities to succeed are very often rewarded for their individual efforts.  Sure there may be underlying circumstances, but hard work is proven to pay more often than not and those who strive for succ

Quickie Review - Finding Vivian Maier

While I thoroughly enjoyed the film, especially the first 15-20 minutes, I was a little bothered by the way the film played out. The interviews with the clearly disturbed brother, sister and the mother, who obviously, was in for a cut, didn't need to be in the film. Then the woman who suggested abuse, yet seemed to have her life defined by Maier, as she tried to muster every ounce of emotion and fake guilt. Her friend, more than happy to be party of the charade. People who talk about abuse for the first time, usually don't do so on camera. The fact these scenes were so prominent, shows that they felt wronged that they were not rewarded. Maloof on the other hand, seems to disappear from the documentary during this part, almost hiding away from the fact, he went from complete praise, to even making money off of her, to destroying her personal legacy. He almost mentions the family of boys taking care of her rent, as an afterthought. Her burial spot, never shown, yet a video of her
